What’s in my TBR pile? Guest post – MarianneTheresa

Historical and spicy romance author, MarianneTheresa, is my special guest poster today. She writes stories with sizzle and spice, with her first short story, Hidden Passions, out now with Momentum Books.

When a guy falls in love with a mate’s girl, there is only one thing he can do … leave town.

When Chad Whittaker receives a frantic call for help from the woman he loves he’s on the next plane home to Sydney.

But will he get there in time?

Cally Foster just kicked her boyfriend’s no-good, lying, cheating ass out of her apartment and her life. That’s what a girl gets when she falls for the wrong guy.

So why does she feel so desolate? Shouldn’t she be on top of the world?

Not when her fickle heart is crying out for another man she loved all along and may never see again.

You can find out more about MarianneTheresa at the bottom of the post.

So tell us, MarianneTheresa, what’s in your TBR pile?

My TB read pile is as much an assortment as a 20cent bag of lollies used to be at the corner store.

There is Paranormal holding hands with Historical dancing with Contemporary who is dining with Sci-Fi Fantasy & Spicy Romantica titles ….  I love ‘em all

Erica Hayes has a new series out, The Seven Signs. It’s based on the Biblical Apocalypse and set in the near future.  It has all my favourites, Hunky Hero & wonderful Heroine, Angels & Zombies and of course HEA… usually a must for me in stories. Book#2, Redemption, has just arrived and I can’t wait to get to it.

What I’ve just read:

The Last City by Nina D’Aleo

This story was fast paced and kept me reading till the end, hardly could I put it down. One of those, stir the gravy with one hand and hold the e-reader with the other kind of books 🙂

It’s a crime/ sci-fiction blend. The romance was not as strong as I prefer but in this story I did not miss it too much. A battle of Breeds, machines & races in a combat against time and evil.

What I’m reading:

Not being a great T.V watcher I read in preference, but I have been bitten by the MKR bug and it has *eaten* into my reading time.  So by the time this post goes to air I’ll probably have finished this book, but plans are for Bound By Lies to be next. It is the 2nd in the Medieval Fantasy Series by S.E.Gilchrist (Bound By Love is #1)

What I want to read:

Don’t you love it when you find a new author? Deborah Challinor is a New Zealand Author and she writes History (my favest genre) – Fiction & non-fiction. I’ve read her first Historical Trilogy set in NZ & now I want to start on her Historical Series set in Early Australia. The first one Behind the Sun is out now.

Here are some of the other books on my TBR bookcase

Here are some of the titles waiting to be read on my E-Reader:

The Contract – by Jae-Lynn Davies

Winter of the Passion Flower -by Annie Seaton

Claimed – by K.R.Smith

Taken by Storm – M.J Schiller

The Wild One – by Danelle Harmon

The Reluctant Marquess – Maggi Anderson

These are just a few out of the 35 that are waiting patiently for me to get to them.

….. and then there are the books I’ve been given or bought from the markets or second hand shop for emergencies – you know – for when I run out completely… ahhahahahahah – like that will ever happen. 🙂

Thanks for another interesting interview Kerrie.
MarianneTheresa, You certainly read widely across different genres. My TBR list shares a few titles with yours, we’ll have to compare notes when we’re finished reading. 🙂
    Good luck with Hidden Passions!

Thanks for inviting me and my suitcase full of Books, Kerrie.

    Stace, ah great minds.
I have no idea why I like variety but as long as they have one thing in common – Romance and HEA.

        Thank you for visiting SE.
I doubt my tower isn’t the largest in the world hahaha …
when I think of Book piles I go to one of my fav movies – Sabina with Harrison Ford, and the Chauffeur who lives over the garage and his living space is FULL.

    Louise Reynolds

I love having a big TBR pile and the more variety the better as I’m not always in the mood for the same type of book. Great interview, ladies!

      li class="comment byuser comment-author-kpadmin bypostauthor even depth-2" id="comment-705">

Thanks for the visit, Louise. I like to have lots of different books on the go to suit my moods too 🙂

    Wow Maryde/Marianne
You are one busy lady! Cover artist, writer, blogger. I have no idea how you keep up with that and then, you go add a ginormous TBR pile to the mix.
Good luck getting through the next five minutes, let alone your next five books!
Thanks Kerrie for the lovely interview.

    Best wishes
    Lily M

She is busy, isn’t she, Lily?! Thanks for the comments!

      li class="comment even depth-2" id="comment-1065">

      hahaha, Hi Lily,
I always say to people “It keeps me off the streets.” and mostly it does, I am not a shoppe o a TV watcher, so gotta do something with every minute of the day 🙂
Thank you for calling past 🙂

    li class="comment odd alt thread-odd thread-alt depth-1 parent" id="comment-726">

I miss my TBR pile which now lurks only on my iphone as I simply can’t fit any more books on board Roo Bin Esque. I’ll have to live vicariously through other people’s tottering stacks of books.

Love the premise for your story, MarianneTheresa!!

      li class="comment byuser comment-author-kpadmin bypostauthor even depth-2 parent" id="comment-773">

It’s just not the same, is it Helene? Can’t you toss something overboard to fit in more books? (Better make sure it’s not something vital though!)

        li class="comment odd alt depth-3" id="comment-1067">

Oh wow Helene, you live on a boat…?
ahhhh the tales you could spin?? 🙂

      li class="comment even depth-2" id="comment-1066">

      Hi Helene
      Know what you mean.
I have favs as both reading options…. how sad. 🙂
If we move from here there will have to be some serious culling. BUT what do I do with those old favorites I just love to bits and read over and over?
I have red dots on the ones that are to be sent me off with when I go to the BIG LIBRARY in the SKY..
      How pathetic :))

    li class="comment odd alt thread-even depth-1" id="comment-1062">

I must apologize profusely to our host, Kerri, for my tardiness. I owe you a piece of Artwork for your patience.
I snuck away with My DH for a week of R&R and you can guess how other things fell apart

Thanks so much for inviting me.

I did finish Bound BY Lies and enjoyed the story immensely. Another winner Ms SE. I can’t wait for the next in the series. This would make a great box set S.E. Gilchrist.

I also got though Ms Hayes Redemption. A shift from the medieval fantasy to the Zombie and Blood thirsty Realm of Demons and Gods.
Loving this series too … such a clever bunch of writers in Australia.

My next book is due to arrive any day. Taken by A Vampire #9 in Joey W Hill’s Vampire Series .Goose bumps just waiting for it.
