I finally finished writing my Bindarra Creek romance, Reach for the Stars late on Sunday night. This was starting to feel like one of those books that would never end, but applying a bit of bum-glue, I got to those magical words, THE END. So now it has winged its way to my critique partners and I start the nervous wait to see what they think of it. It still needs some polish, and probably some deepening emotion, but hopefully they don’t discover any major plot holes, unfinished threads or hate the whole story!
I’ve set a release date of 15th November, so still plenty of time to finish the process. Once it comes back from my CPs, I’ll make any changes they highlight, give it another polish, and then send it off for a professional edit, and also send to my wonderful beta readers so they can give me their feedback.
In the meantime, I’m catching up on tasks I’ve been neglecting. (One of those should be housework, but hey, lets not get too carried away!) I have blurbs to write, a pitch to prepare for conference as well as other conference preparation. Yes, the Romance Writers of Australia conference is less than 2 weeks away. It’s seriously the highlight of my year! I can’t wait to catch up with all my writing friends.
After conference – and a week or so to recover! – it will be time to turn my attention to the next book. I’m still undecided, but it will most likely be Book 2 of the Hope Creek series. I can’t wait to delve back into the world of Hope Creek again and catch up with my favourite characters.
