The word of 2016 – Consistency

2016 rainbow & beachAfter two awesome weeks playing at being a journalist at the Scout Jamboree, I’m back and ready to kick butt this year. Last year was an amazing year – I want this year to be even better. So far it’s starting that way, having been nominated in the Australian Romance Readers Awards in the Member’s Choice Favourite New Romance Author for 2015 category! I’m still pinching myself over that one!

In order to achieve all I want to in 2016, I need to make steady progress. I’m not aiming for perfection – I’m aiming for consistency. Consistency in putting words on the page – not fits and starts like I normally do. And to be able to do that, I need consistency in taking care of my health, physically and mentally – exercise, eating well, journaling / meditating, refilling my creative well and getting in touch with nature.

And if I could get consistency in my housekeeping as well, that would be a bonus, but it’s pretty low down on my priority list 🙂

So that’s my word for 2016. Consistency.

What about you? Do you focus on a word each year? Does it help? What’s your word for 2016?
