I had such a busy author day on Saturday. Ah the life of the (not-at-all) famous author 🙂

The lovely Brenda Telford, Goodreads reviewer extraordinaire, invited a bunch of us local authors to a Goodreads lunch happening in Newcastle. It was so much fun. We all took along a newish book or two to swap – but we had to wrap them and simply write the genre on the front. Then when our name was pulled out of the hat, we got to choose a book from the mystery piles on the table! I have two new books to add to my reading list that look great.

It was a really enjoyable couple of hours as we ate, chatted books – and then chatted some more about books!

Thanks to Brenda for inviting me (and for the group photo) and to Marianne for organising the lunch.

I drove straight from there to meet up with Linda Charles and Stacey Nash for a celebratory afternoon tea. Linda and Stacey are my co-authors in the Here To Stay Mindalby outback romance series bind up, which comes out in Oct / Nov. We all lead quite hectic lives and felt our release days had passed by us with little fanfare, so we arranged to get together to at least acknowledge our achievements! It was a logistical exercise to get us all together, but I’m glad we made the time.

Needless to say, I spent Sunday in hibernation mode after so much peopling 😉

How was your weekend? Did you spend it with family or friends?
